IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you would like to receive up to 160 grade points for this project, complete Parts 1 and 2 below. HOWEVER, if you would like to receive up to 220 grade points for this project, complete Parts 1, 2, and 3 below.

This Leadership-in-Action video assignment is designed to introduce you to a variety of leadership videos (that cover a wide array of topics) for your viewing pleasure. Information from the videos will benefit you both personally and professionally.
To get you started simply conduct an Internet search entitled: “Top 10 TED Talk About Great Leaders”. and/or (2) “Best TED Talk Leadership Videos” and/or (3) “Great Leadership Strategies” etc. ALSO… IMPORTANT HINT: (1) An easy way to find videos is simply to do a Google search entitled: “Best Leadership Tips For Managers”.  From there, click on the “videos” category of your search, which is located at the top of your search page.  
Specific Instructions:
This project should be prepared and submitted in ONE document. Your paper should be double spaced with one inch top, side, and bottom margins. Type YOUR name at the top of the first page of your paper. **Since your assignment will be double spaced, Do Not skip any additional lines when preparing your assignment.
Select four videos (that are 10 minutes or more in length) that you would like to report on. View each of your four videos thoroughly and prepare a three paragraphs (per video) summary of what you learned from viewing each video. Each paragraph should contain between six and eight detailed sentences. After you summarize each of your videos, move to Part 2 of this activity. When creating your report type the yellow information in Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 category as indicated below first. Then type your information for that category.

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR LEADERSHIP-IN-ACTION ASSIGNMENT:
At the top of your first page type your name and the name of this assignment on the same line. Then skip one blank line and type the information below.
***Type “Part 1:” and then type the information requested below. Next, on a different line type “Part 2:” and then type the information requested for part 2 below. Next, on a different line type “Part 3:” and then type the information requested for part 3 below. (Per the information posted above, Part 3 is optional).
Part 1: Video Summaries
In this section you are going to summarize information that you learned from viewing each of your four videos. List each summary as follows:
V-1: Type the name of your first video, the author of the video, and the length of the video — see example below:
Example: V-1: Strategies For Becoming A Better Leader by Jacob Morgan (15 minutes)
Type a three paragraphs summary of what you learned from viewing your first video. IMPORTANT REMINDER: Paraphrase or explain in your own words what you learned when watching each video. DO NOT type information directly (word-for-word) from the video.
Then start on a new line and **repeat the above format when preparing your summaries for videos V-2, V-3, and V-4. When you complete Part 1 you will have 12 detailed paragraphs.

Part 2: Videos Application
In this section discuss in one detailed paragraph per video how you would apply the information that you learned when watching each video and how the information you learned from the video will help you to become a more effective leader. Each paragraph should contain between six and eight detailed sentences. Start each paragraph with the following: V-1 Video Name: Then type your one paragraph, V-2 Video Name: ……etc. When you complete Part 2 you will have 4 detailed paragraphs.

Part 3: Leader/Manager Interview and Feedback (Part 3 is Optional–but worth up to an additional 60 grade points if you decide to complete it.) In Part 3 you will need to interview ONE leader. See details below:
At the beginning of Part 3 type the name of the leader who you interviewed, the person’s job title, and company name. Your interview can be in person, via phone, or virtually.
In this section you will need to contact one individual who has a leadership role in any company or organization. (Example of possible job titles: Supervisor, Team Lead, Manager, etc.) The goal is to have a brief discussion with that individual to (a) share some of the information that you learned from viewing each of your four videos and (b) get that individual’s feedback about the information that you share with them. More specifically, based on the information that you shared from watching each of your four videos, what did the leader who you interviewed agree with and what different or additional opinions did he or she have regarding the topic in the video?
After your interview, type a one paragraph summary of the comments that the leader shared with you regarding each of the four videos that you viewed. Label each of the leader’s summary comments as above: V-1: Type in one paragraph what you learned from the leader’s comments about that first video that you talked to them about. Then repeat this process for the remaining three videos. Each paragraph should contain between six and eight detailed sentences. When you complete Part 3 you will have 4 detailed paragraphs.
Again: Important Note: Your interview can be by phone, virtually, or in person.
