Grade level and startdard selected
Grade level: Kindergarden
Standard 3: Number and Operations in Base Ten (NBT)
K.NBT.B.2
I have attached the template for this assignment below and also a previous assignment from week 2 to be used.
For this assignment, use the “3 Day Unit Plan Template” to create a three-day unit plan based on the standard and objective from your Topic 2 assignment. You will use the lesson plan you previously created as one day of your unit plan and complete the other two days as part of the same unit. All lesson plans in your unit should focus on the same standard but should build in complexity as the unit progresses. Objectives, vocabulary, activities, formative assessments, and differentiation will be individualized for each lesson. Include the following in your unit:
Title of Unit and Brief Summary: Create a title for your unit and give a brief summary of each lesson based on the selected standard.
Classroom and Student Factors/Grouping: Summarize classroom and student factors or use the class profile for the selected grade level.
State Learning Standards: Use the standard selected in Topic 2.
Specific Learning Targets/Objectives: Aligned to the selected standard and increasing in complexity on each day of the unit.
Academic Language: Key vocabulary for each lesson.
Unit Resources, Materials, Equipment, and Technology needed for each day of the unit.
Depth of Knowledge Lesson Questions: Include 2-3 DOK questions on each day of the unit. DOK levels should progress throughout the unit: Day 1 should focus on DOK Level 1, Day 2 should focus on DOK Level 2, and Day 3 should focus on DOK Level 3 and Level 4.
Anticipatory Set: Explain how you will introduce each lesson and activate prior knowledge to trigger students’ curiosity and engagement in the lesson.
Multiple Means of Representation: Explain how you will present the content for each lesson in various ways to meet the needs of different learners.
Multiple Means of Engagement: Explain how you will provide students with opportunities to explore, practice, and apply the content.
Multiple Means of Expression: Describe a formative assessment that you will use on Day 1 and Day 2 to monitor student progress and modify instruction. Describe a summative assessment you will use on Day 3 to assess student learning of the unit standard and objectives.
Differentiation: Explain how you will differentiate instruction for ELL students, students with special needs, students with gifted abilities, and early finishers.
Extension Activity or Homework: Create meaningful extension activities that can be completed in the classroom or at home that will allow students to further explore the objectives.
In a 250-500 word reflection, explain how your unit plan is developmentally appropriate for the selected grade level and how it provides meaningful learning progressions adapted to meet the needs of all students based on central concepts, methods, and tools of inquiry of the academic disciplines.
Support the lesson plan with 2-3 resources, including citations for the standards used to create the lesson.
APA format is not required, but solid academic writing is expected
