This assignment should be an extension of the theory you discussed during your PPTA paper, and you are not permitted to change theories after you have made your selection. In this presentation, students will apply the specific theory to a unique client population or presenting /problem issues (for example, narrative theory and hospice). Your presentation should be between 15 (minimum) to 20 minutes long (maximum). Peer-reviewed journal articles (5 articles minimum) dated between the past 5-7 years (2016 – 2024) that focus on practice effectiveness using this theory should be integrated into the presentation. Students will be required to record their presentation and upload the recording to GoReact as there will also be a peer evaluation component to this assignment. Students will then be able to view and critically evaluate two of their peers presentations. For example: “Application of [Theory] to [Problem/Population/Issue].” Slide 1: Provide an overview of the client population or clinical issue/problem. Include relevant statistics, incidence, prevalence, and key clinical concerns. Slide 2: Offer a brief overview of the theoretical approach. Explain how it is conceptually relevant to the clinical concern or client population, including key theorists or seminal works if applicable. Slide 3: Elaborate on the effectiveness of the theoretical approach with this population or issue. Use practical examples or case studies if possible. Slide 4: Identify the role of supervision and consultation in applying this theory to the chosen population/issue/problem. Define supervision and consultation in this context and ways it can be utilized effectively when applying this theory. Slide 5: Identify at least one ethical concern that could arise. Create a detailed ethical dilemma related to your population/issue/problem for your peers to “solve” during their evaluation. Provide sufficient background information for them to understand and address the dilemma. Slide 6: Discuss how the theory can be effectively applied in a rural area, including limitations or challenges such as resource availability or cultural considerations. Slide 7: Identify an alternative theory, framework, or approach not included in the text. Compare this alternative theory to your chosen theory in terms of effectiveness for your population/issue/problem. Discuss why the alternative might be more or less effective. Slide 8: Identify 2-3 gaps in your knowledge related to the effectiveness or application of your chosen theory. Describe the steps you will take to address these gaps and increase your knowledge. Reference Slide: Include a reference slide listing the 5 peer-reviewed journal articles you used, dated between 2016 and 2024.
