On June 16th, 2017 it was announced that Amazon would be acquiring Austin, Texas-based Whole Foods. Merging two organizations together is never easy, but these two in particular seemed to be culturally quite different on a number of fronts including values.
We’ve been talking at length about identifying the values that are important to us individually as well as of organizations and their leaders. Values can drive how we do things and influence the directions we take – short term and long term. Technology and innovation adoption also plays a role in how and where organizations evolve. Organizations must grow and evolve or they will eventually “die” or become irrelevant.
