Jamie is a 20-year-old female college student who
presents to the clinic with complaints of “increasing
throbbing headaches” usually on the right side of her
head, typically associated with nausea, vomiting, and
sensitivity to light. She states her headaches have
become more frequent over the past six months with
an average of three migraines per month, lasting 2-3
days. She would like medication since she is
concerned about missing class with her headaches.
She has no abnormal findings on physical
examination at today’s visit.
Her past medical history includes migraine
headaches, and she is not taking any prescription
medications. She has no know allergies. She takes
OTC Advil as needed for her migraine headaches
which is no longer effective.
