First, analyze your personal conflict style using the two different conflict style instruments from previous assignments. Then, you will write a comprehensive analysis of your personal conflict style before providing specific examples/evidence of what you learned in this course. This paper should address the following elements of your personal conflict style (one paragraph per bullet point should suffice):
* a description of your personal conflict style in both personal and public settings,
* the positive and negative features of your style,
* what your style triggers in others,
* how flexible you are in choice of style, and
* where you learned and/or developed your particular conflict style (influences, origins).
In the last section of your paper (not the conclusion paragraph), you will reference an assignment or activity from the course that you believe serves as evidence for your understanding and application of course content and instruction towards the course objectives. Review the course objectives listed below, then review your assignments in the course. Identify (tell about) the assignment that best demonstrates your learning in the course,  and clearly connect (write about) how that assignment meets at least one (preferably more than one) of the course objectives. Be sure to write a brief conclusion paragraph to tie it all together.

The Power of Forgiveness
From the cross-sectional perspective, forgiveness is a stunning concept with many facets concerning people’s mental health and the quality of interpersonal relationships. The Heartland Forgiveness Scale (HFS) is a questionnaire consisting of 18 items that assesses a person’s general level of forgiveness, including self-forgiveness, forgiving others, and situations in general. In this essay, I shall discuss my HFS results, the significance of forgiveness and enmity, and the factors that may facilitate or hinder forgiveness.
Total HFS Score and Subscale Scores
After taking the HFS, I scored a Total HFS of 84 after finishing the test. The subscale scores were as follows: Forgiveness of Self -26, Forgiveness of Others -30, and Forgiveness of Situations -28. These scores are moderate regarding the general ability to forgive, while there is a higher disposition towards forgiving others and situations than forgiving oneself. These results were quite in line with my expectations since I overwhelmingly tend to be harsher on myself than others, which is often seen in self-forgiveness tendency measures where people set higher standards for themselves and are highly self-critical.
Self-Reflection on Forgiveness
Completing the HFS proved helpful in understanding my stance on forgiveness based on the results provided by HFS. I also noted that forgiving myself is straightforward enough to forgive others and circumstances, but it is still a significant challenge. This self-awareness is essential because it draws attention to developing a better attitude regarding my failures and oversights. Self-forgiveness involves acknowledging everyone’s imperfections and the need to be compassionate towards oneself, thus improving one’s psychological state.
The Importance of Forgiveness
Forgiveness can be a powerful tool in sustaining psychological well-being and strengthening interpersonal connections. Therefore, forgiveness is essential because harboring bitterness and anger can result in continued suffering and affect an individual’s overall well-being. Forgiveness enables persons to detach from bitter feelings, thus freeing up their energy from stress and offering an opportunity for emotional healing. Empathy, understanding, and conflict resolution create healthy and mutually rewarding interpersonal relationships.
Factors Influencing Forgiveness
Several factors can make it difficult to forgive someone who has hurt you in one way or the other. Examples of such contingencies are the degree of the committed offence, perceived premeditation of the wrongdoing, and anticipated apology and regret from the offender. For example, it is difficult to forgive another person for intentional aggression or infidelity, especially when such a person does not feel sorry for the actions committed. It is also important to note that personal values, cultural background, and previous experiences with forgiveness also contribute to how one forgives.
On the other hand, forgiving becomes challenging when the offender fails to accept, apologise or even seek pardon. It can also be understood that comprehending the context of the transgression and its reasons will help build empathy and forgive more easily. However, learning communication skills such as empathy and perspective-taking may help shift to the offender’s position, reduce negative emotions, and reach forgiveness.
In conclusion, forgiving is a vital virtue that can help one’s personal development and strengthen relationships between people. In my HFS, I observed a moderate trend toward forgiveness with a suggestion for personal forgiveness. This is precisely why forgiveness should be appreciated: it helps to enhance one’s well-being and the quality of interpersonal relationships. Some factors that affect forgiveness include the level of the offense committed, the feeling of regret, and even personal sympathy. Accepting and practicing forgiveness improves one’s emotional status and the positive development of interpersonal relations.
