Using a minimum of 5 peer reviewed articles, students will identify evidence based research that supports and proposes interventions and theoretical approaches to support their case vignette. In completing this assignment, please be sure to include and address the following components:
Audience: 
For this assignment, you will serve as the human service professional for a specific client with addiction needs. Serving in this role, you will present your client, identify and integrate evidence based research and then synthesize this information into a workable treatment plan in order for the client to begin treatment

Plan for Relapse:

Research:

____ What does the research say about the cause/trigger for addiction for your client? (One article should address the specific cause for addiction with your client, ex. trauma, physical injury, child abuse, peer influence etc.)
____ What does the research say about the behaviors that are a result of your client’s addiction? (E.g. identify one article that discusses your client’s displayed behavior of either lying, stealing, manipulation, drug dealing, prostitution, poor parenting etc.)
____ Identify at least two risk and two protective factors that supports their addiction (risk factors) or supports their sobriety (protective) in your scenario? After you identify these, support your answer with a minimum of one research article for each area (one article for a risk factor, one article for a protective factor).

Unstable living arrangements
History of failed attempts
Enabling family/friends
History of overdose
Mental illness
Denial of addiction
Example of Protective factors

Acceptance of their addiction and a desire to recovery
Limited or no income to support their addiction.
Meaningful relationships
Psychotherapeutic Approaches and Evidence Based Practices
