I will attach my original paper, which this new paper is based off of. This paper is shorter but need new articles/references are needed. Suggested advised proposal research question and feedback is this:
Here are some ideas to help you with your project. I recommend using a research question similar to: How does the implementation of animal-assisted therapy involving service dogs impact the levels of stress, anxiety, and discomfort in pediatric patients undergoing difficult medical procedures or treatments compared to standard care without animal-assisted therapy? You could use a quasi-experimental design with two groups (those receiving the AAT and those receiving standard care). You could include patients undergoing difficult medical procedures (e.g., chemotherapy, blood draws, imaging studies, etc) who do not have allergies to dogs. Think about exclusion criteria (fear of dogs, allergies, etc). Think about how the intervention will work — how long would each session last? Will the certified dog handler accompany the service dog and patient? Think of your outcomes — I wouldn’t use a lot of outcomes and how you will measure them.
About 6-8 resources would be good. I will also attach the rubric for the paper. NO abstract necessary, just a regular essay. Thank you!
