government reject ACA’s expansion of Medicaid)
ii. What is the status of the Medicare and Medicaid system? (is it
overburdened by high levels of poverty or a large senior
population, poor health outcomes)
iii. In general, what is the fiscal status of this healthcare system
(bankrupt, poorly financed, heavily privatized, heavily
subsidized by the state, lacks competitive insurance
marketplace etc.)
3. Critique your state: strengths and weaknesses (1/2 page)
4. Brief Conclusion (one paragraph)
a. Summarize main findings.

Each student will post their findings using a one-page PowerPoint slide on the
Discussion Board and Safe Assign for 5pts. Please use the audio function on
PowerPoint, if you can.

Content Guidelines of Assignment
Your paper must demonstrate the following competencies:
 Your case study must be written in a clear and focused manner.
 Your case study must demonstrate a strong analysis and synthesis of the
materials gathered for your paper.
 There must be a minimum of SEVEN references required. These sources must
be reputable (CMS, CDC, KFF.org, peer-reviewed articles, for example)
Formatting Guidelines:
 The main content of your Paper must be a minimum of 5 pages.
 Use subheadings to signal a new segment in your writing.
Subheadings guide the reader from key point to key point.

• APA style Title Page – This does not count as a page
• Abstract and keywords (start page numbering) – This,

• Introduction – Body of paper – Summary (minimum of 5
pages)

• Use 1-inch margins.
• Use a professional font (12 pt).
• Include an APA style Running Head.
• Double space
• Page numbers
• Your writing must be original. This means you must cite
outside sources if used in your paper. Do not copy any text verbatim. Try to
summarize in your own words and then cite from where the idea came. Use
proper quotations and citations when quoting a text.
• Save as a .docx or .doc formatted file
• Name File: YourFirstNameYourLastName_State_Name
• Upload your paper into SAFE ASSIGN and include your name
and the assignment
• For example: SteveJones_State_Name
• You must submit your paper to SAFE ASSIGN. Late submissions
will not be accepted.
• Note that SAFE ASSIGN only allows for one submission.
• Once you have submitted your paper to SAFE ASSIGN, the
