Purpose
The goal of this activity is to creatively portray some important attributes of a major fossil hominin species.
Task
For this discussion, you will select one of the fossil hominins that we’ve discussed in lecture and create an online dating profile using some of their unique attributes. Get creative but make sure you include the major characteristics of the species. In your posting, remember to:
Include the scientific name of the hominin you’ve selected (work in any nicknames we’ve discussed in a creative way in the text)
In the profile, make sure you include a mix of morphological and behavioral traits, the time period they lived, and their geographic range (I’m looking for at minimum 5 key pieces of information about the hominin). Highlight any major moments in hominin evolution associated with your species of choice.
You may want to think about answering these questions for your hominin:
What are your best physical features and why?
What are your special skills and/or favorite hobbies?
What are you looking for in a partner?
What is your favorite food and how do you like it prepared?
What are you binging on Netflix right now and why? (or Hulu, Prime, Disney+ whatever streaming service)
Describe your perfect first date g. On a typical weekend you will find me… (Example: on a typical weekend you will find me building a fire in a cave)
What are 5 things you couldn’t live without?

After you make your post, respond to at least 2 classmates in character as your hominin– these responses should note shared or divergent interests.
Your work should be your own– do not plagiarize. The tone of your post should be playful and silly but don’t write anything that would make your mother blush.
