The concept for this assignment is to view aspects of health (primarily Nutrition and Weight Management) from an alternative perspective through the experience of others by viewing a documentary film and relating it to the information you have learned in class.

The movie review is worth 40 points toward your overall grade and is evaluated on the criteria listed below:
Heading – Includes the Title of the Movie being Reviewed; Student’s Full Name; Class the student is enrolled in. (5 Points)
Summary of the Movie Reviewed – write a brief summary, in your own words, answering the question, “what is the Movie was about?”. This should include reference to the Main Characters and actions represented throughout the entire movie [highlights from the beginning, middle, & end] (1 paragraph response (approx. 5+ sentences). (5 points)
Mission Statement – write a statement describing what, in your opinion, was the author’s main point of the movie. What was the message the author was trying to convey to the viewers? (5 points)
Your Opinion – What you thought of the movie, answering the question, “how was it?”. Was it insightful? Will it help you toward a better lifestyle? Did it surprise you, bore you, etc.? Tell me what you personally gained after watching the movie. (1 paragraph response (approx. 5+ sentences) (5 points)
Reliability/Credibility – Would you consider this movie a reliable/credible source of information? What specific factors support your opinion (be specific considering the information on Becoming a Wary Consumer of Health Information from Chapter 1)? What potential biases are present in the movie? Consider the date that the movie was made, is the information still relevant to viewers today? Why or why not? (5 points)
Relationship to American Society and the Concepts of ‘Health’ and ‘Wellness’ – Link the concepts presented in the movie to information ‘discussed’/learned in class/in the textbook, etc. [include referenced information from the textbook] (1 paragraph response (approx. 5+ sentences) (10 points)
