In this assignment, you will focus on the major educational theories; Behaviorism, Constructivism, Cognitivism, Humanism, and Connectivism.
Imagine you have received an email from your soon-to-be principal and she has asked you to create a short PowerPoint. She wants you to share a bit about each major learning theory so she can get an idea of who you are as a student and as an educator. This will also help her place you with the perfect Cooperating Teacher.
Create a PowerPoint presentation with: an introduction slide (create but leave blank), a reference slide and a slide for each theory including the following information (Total of 7 slides):
Title slide:
Your name, the date, and the grade level/subject area you would like to teach.
Each theory slide (5 total) will include the following:
Name of the theory and who this theory is attributed to.
One sentence summary of the theory.
One sentence stating how this theory will compliment your chosen grade level/subject area. (Physical Education, Middle School, Grade 6-8)
One sentence stating if why/why not this theory is relevant today
One question you have about the theory. (A question that you would like your principal to answer.)
One image that best represents the theory.
Reference slide:
You must include one cited reference per slide to support your work.
