You will be required to write a 5-page summary and critique of the selected empirical article in a two-step process as outlined below. The critiques should first summarize the source paper, elaborate about the theoretical background of the study, research methods the authors used, summarize the findings, and discuss their implications. Following the summary, you should critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the paper, as well as suggest improvements or future studies that would further our understanding of the selected topic.
First Draft. Minimum of 5 pages NOT including cover page, reference page; papers that do not meet the minimum length will receive a deduction. You will first submit a draft of the paper by Friday, June 28, 2024 (20 points). Next, you will incorporate the feedback you receive into further developing and refining your final research paper (50 points).
To meet the requirements of the GCCR, you will turn in a draft of your research paper before the final paper assignment is due. You will receive Instructor/TA feedback on your first draft as well as your final paper. Thus drafts, feedback, and a revision process required by the GCCR will occur. To satisfy the GCCR, students must earn a grade of C or better on designated Composition and Communication intensive assignments.

They must also include some critique at the end related to what the researchers might do in their next study, what they did not do well and so forth.
